As a journalist, Joal Ryan has contributed to E! Online, the Los Angeles Times and public radio's "Marketplace," among others.
Ryan is the author of several books, including "Katharine Hepburn: A Stylish Life" (St. Martin's Press), and "Former Child Stars: The Story of America's Least Wanted" (ECW Press). She is currently at work on a book about Christmas in the 1970s.
Ryan founded the site/blog, Former Child Star Central, and has been interviewed on the subject of child actors by "Nightline," CNN, the Washington Post, the BBC, VH1 and E! Entertainment.
