Joal Ryan has written and reported for E! Online, the Los Angeles Times and public radio's "Marketplace," among others.
She is the author of five books, including "Katharine Hepburn: A Stylish Life" (St. Martin's Press), and "Former Child Stars: The Story of America's Least Wanted" (ECW Press). She is at work on a book about Christmas in the 1970s.
Ryan founded the site/blog, Former Child Star Central, and has been interviewed on the subject of child actors by "Nightline," CNN, the Washington Post, the BBC, VH1 and E! Entertainment.
She found this in her garage a couple of years ago -- an artifact from her newspaper days, circa the late 20th century.
